Stop Bias protects kids and adults from antiwhite bias.

Stop Bias is launching a campaign to protect students in Calgary’s post-secondary institutions (e.g., universities, colleges, or technical institutes) from antiwhite bias in academics and employment. We are working with students, prospective students, parents, and other allies to create the broad support needed for positive change.

We are requesting information from post-secondary applicants, students or recent graduates who believe they may have been discriminated against because of their ethnic European ("White") heritage (whether wholly or partially ethnic European) such as:

  • Being denied admission to an academic program
  • Being denied financial support (loans, grants, or scholarships)
  • Being denied job interviews
  • Being denied employment, including internships
  • Being bullied, intimidated, harassed, or demeaned by people in positions of authority like professors or administrators, or by peers
  • Being exposed to curriculum material that portrays ethnic European people in an inaccurate or imbalanced way relative to the portrayals of non-European people
  • Being forced to adopt or claim ideological or personal positions you do not hold, such as being ‘unconsciously racist,’ having ‘White privilege,’ or related concepts
  • Other possible examples of discrimination we have not suggested here

If you or someone you know may have experienced any of these forms of antiwhite discrimination, we would like to hear from you.

We are gathering information about the most common forms of antiwhite bias, and the most needed forms of protection for applicants and students.

Stop Bias will use this information to determine the highest priority interventions to reduce and ultimately eliminate antiwhite bias from all post-secondary institutions in Alberta.

You may choose to limit your participation to an interview, but for those interested, additional opportunities to connect with the growing Stop Bias community or our activities will be provided.

A connected community can make positive change!
